Frution

It is summer time here in Virginia, and I am watching a beautiful rain settle over the valley.
It is peaceful and giving me the opportunity to reflect on the past year of my life.
I am finally taking a day to reset if you will.
I have been nonstop since May 8th and I haven't been focused on taking care of my body and spirit like I should.
Some of you may remember that I hit a roadblock last year in my marriage at this same time.
It was then I began to change my life and my perspective. It was then I realized I had gotten lost in who I was and where I wanted to be.

Last year I went back to my husband with hopes of turning our lives around together. Little did I know it would be to give me the strength I never knew I had to be the person I always knew I am.
It was a tough decision to go back with knowing everything that had happen, but I knew in my heart I had to. I also believe God needed to show me where I could find me again.
In the midst of all the turmoil, I had reality with my health hit me dead in the face and I knew then I had to make some major changes.
At 39 my body had begun to deteriorate rather rapidly. The doctor told me I had no choice but to make changes in my life and I had to do it the right way.
On June 9, 2012 I began my spiritual journey.
On October 11, 2012 I began my official journey to find me.
On May 8, 2013 I found out I had the strength of a million men and that I was going to be ok.
God put me on this path. I have no doubt in my mind about that.
I succeeded with my health journey because I knew things would not change overnight and I had to pace myself setting realistic goals to achieve.
When I ran for a mile the first time, I rewarded myself with real running shoes. When I ran my first 5k, I rewarded myself with another pair of running shoes and a FitBit.
When I lost 44 lbs, I had planned on rewarding myself with a new bike. I am still going to reward myself. I just have to save a little more money.
The biggest reward of all was when I was able to face my fears without conviction and make a huge life decision without regret. I was able to walk away from a marriage that wasn't working and do it without any animosity.
You see, all the while I was getting stronger  physically, I was getting stronger mentally and emotionally.
For the first time in my life I was able to do something on my own without anyone else being able to take credit for it.
My transformation is mine and I own it solely. No one can take this away from me, but myself. I have grown to love myself enough to not let that happen.
I am strong, I am enough, and I am making it. 40 feels FABULOUS!!!

Forever
